Dänische Radio- und Fernsehanstalt Kopenhagen / DK

The third and smallest segment of the Copenhagen ensemble
of four buildings for the Danish Radio and Television
Station contains the administration, conference rooms,
Copenhagen Radio and the canteen for all the employees.
The design idea by the Danish office Gottlieb Paludan
Arkitekter consists of three fundamental elements: The
Inner Space, The Outer Glass Screen and The Green
Gardens. Inside, the three open levels are arranged around
a central atrium. Two large incisions in the façade provide
space for the gardens and illuminate the workplaces which
are all positioned near the façade. The glass façade made
of tiltable panels is the protective shell of the core and produces
an open and airy atmospheric environment in the
whole building. Between the shell and the core are two gardens;
protected from bad weather, they enable the employees
to sit outside all year long.
